Switch to Gmail

Lantern Media recommends Gmail as the best interface to check your email.

Benefits of Gmail:

You'll still have an email account with Lantern Media, but Gmail will automatically move your mail from our server to its own. Thus, you won't need to worry about your Lantern Media account going over quota.
Gmail offers 5 GB of storage space--enough so that most users can save all mail in a Gmail account using Gmail's "Archive" function.
You can send and receive email from up to five other email accounts via Gmail.
You can set your "from" address to be your account with Lantern Media.
You can check your mail at www.gmail.com from anywhere you have an internet connection.
Find your mail easily: Gmail offers a robust search function, as well as "labels" that work much like folders.
Gmail frequently upgrades its interface and its spam protection.

To Create a Gmail account:

Go to www.gmail.com and follow the registration instructions.
A common Gmail username is "firstname.lastname" but you can set it to anything. You'll be able to change your "from" address to be your Lantern Media account anyway, so no one needs to see your Gmail account name unless you want them to.

To Receive Your Lantern Email via Gmail:

Once you've created an account, click "Settings" in the top right corner.
Click the second tab, "Accounts."
Under "Get mail from other accounts" select "Add a mail account."
Input your Lantern Media email address.
Fill in your username (the part of your email address that appears before the @ sign) and password.
Your POP server is "booklightinc.net"
Leave all boxes unchecked and submit.
After you submit, you'll be asked whether you want to be able to send email as your Lantern Media account. Choose "yes."
Follow the instructions to confirm your account.

To Get Mail Quicker:

Gmail downloads your Lantern email at set intervals. To force it to download mail quicker, go to "Settings" -> "Accounts" -> "Get mail from other accounts" and find the account you want to check. Then click "Check mail now."
